A few random things!
1) This offer still stands! I have filled a number of envelopes already and have enough stuff~ left over to fill a couple more. :-D
2) Thinking of signing up for
fandomtrees! Having my Guardian wishlist available as inspiration definitely helps, although it'll need quite a bit of editing and further thought. Also! If you're including non-textual types of fanworks in your Medium Likes, a gentle reminder to maybe include some ideas/prompts for them as well. I encountered quite a few (Guardian) wishlists that welcomed a variety of gifts other than fic, but then only included fic prompts. Makes it harder to gift things!
(My main hope is that "fanmix" won't be in everyone's DNWs again. Fanmixes take work and I rarely see them in the wild. I don't think anyone will just make you one unless you specifically request it? Incidentally, I feel the same way about the obligatory "watersports/scat" DNW. Still not sure if everyone started including that in their Yuletide letters after the Care Bears fic (and it spread from there), or if there have been actual unsolicited watersports incidents. In which case, better safe than sorry, I guess!)
3) Still trying to port over some Twitter content, JUST IN CASE, but gosh, it's taking a while. Looking forward to having the NOODS thread replicated on Dreamwidth, but wow, it's 26 tweets and 65 pictures all in all. What was I thinking!

Art prompts are hard. I try, but I still struggle with them. It's a work in progress. *g*
About the DNWs, idk how it started either, but I don't DNW things I don't think anyone acting in good faith would give unrequested - if only because the DNW list would be too unwieldy then! But of course what someone thinks is fine to give unrequested depends a lot on what fandom subculture they come from. So I think perhaps this all started from Yuletide DNW lists because Yuletide is so huge that lots of people with very different fannish backgrounds end up interacting there ...

Oooh yes! :D
(And yay for backing up Twitter content in general! There's so much that's going to be lost if Twitter goes away ...)

Me too! And yours is super inspiring and thoughtful and detailed! Prompts are hard, and it's just nice to see when someone goes the extra mile to include a variety of gifting options. <3
Obviously, everyone should feel free to clearly state their own boundaries in gift exchanges, for their own sake and the potential gifters', and if someone had bad experiences before, they're probably less likely to assume good faith. But sometimes I really wonder if there are people out there who'd just randomly write scat for strangers. (Or unhappy endings! I think "ending must at least be hopeful" is also a very popular request, in my own letters as well, but now I'm wondering who'd just give someone, like, death or breakup fic as a holiday gift. 😅)

Oh man, seriously. 😔 I'm trying to replicate more of my ~*content*~ over here, and it's interesting how the different formats affect presentation. Also, a DW post is definitely way more work than a series of tweets. But hopefully worth it in the long run!

I think that's something that more frequently happens when the writer isn't usually in fannish spaces? Yuletide draws in a lot of people who really only do this one thing. Idk.

Yes, totally! The medium shapes the message. *g*
(Definitely worth it in my book! ♥)

Oh geez. 😬 Then yeah, with a huge exchange like that, I can see how you'd want to cover all your bases. (Still have to do my fandomtrees sign-up, ahhh!)
