Guardian Appreciation Bingo!

The deadline for this fun event was extended to the end of January, so I actually managed a blackout, whee!

The idea was to show some appreciation to creators in Guardian and related fandoms, by leaving comments on fanworks that (broadly) fit the prompts on the card. I tried to give some love especially to podfic readers and fanartists who usually don't get a ton of comments, but I also yelled at my friends about how much I enjoyed their stuff. 😄

Most of the fics are on the short or very short side, because that's how I roll, and most of them are Weilan. I could have added more details about each fanwork, but I am trying to keep this list manageable for myself. :-D

(1) To satisfy the "new" requirement, I went with the first Guardian fic by the author, which is delightful.
(2) I already told the author how much I loved their story, so this is just to turn it into a rec: IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL, READ IT IF YOU HAVEN'T YET. Or reread it if it's been a while! It's so soft and warm and full of comfort, with that little snag of Shen Wei's insecurities about wanting too much, needing too much from Zhao Yunlan. The reassurance he receives from Zhao Yunlan is so lovely, and so in character. A perfect bedtime story.
(3) Look, fanart can be long too.
(4) I'm in awe of Mo's use of language to paint pictures and make scenes play out like a movie. I have a hard time with visual details unless I remind myself to describe things, so this is very inspiring.
(5) The favorite trope in question is D/s play, hi.
