(1) My wishlist has been posted, whee! I wanted to do it in hard mode and come up with fresh likes and prompts without consulting my previous posts, which was clearly a silly idea. But the general section is much more concise now. 😄

(2) I have signed up for a card in the Summer Fic Reading Challenge and have started reading things! I really don't read a lot, certainly not books and only fics I can do in one sitting. So, reading and commenting is happening now, and it feels nice. (I'm allowing myself meta as well, if it works for the prompt. It's fannish words!)


(3) Zhu Yilong and the rest of the Land of Broken Heart cast did a concert by the beach two weeks ago and wow, it was An Experience. He looked so happy and radiant and relaxed and also ARMS. O_O I had no idea going in what the hell was happening, and I'm still not sure whose idea this was and what Glass Man is (maybe a fashion magazine?), but it happened and it was such a joy to watch (with some filler). * Around the 1:50 mark in the YouTube video, Wen Shipei gives Long-ge a little kissie on the cheek, and Qiu Tian (who apparently just plays herself in the movie) does excited heart hands behind them. Later on, they drag Peng Guanying on stage, which you can see in the full recording. It was a wild night. 🍹🍹🍹

I did it! \o/ Twenty-five Guardian fanworks in one year! (Actually twenty-six, because I accidentally filled one square twice, oops.) Last year I completed two lines and a handful of bonus prompts, but this year's card was a dream and slowly filling all the squares was a lot of fun.

End of year events:

My tree is up over at fandomtrees! I've reused a lot of elements from last year's tree, plus my Guardian wishlist and a new fandom. Asking for Guardian, DMBJ, and Parallel World fanworks and various actor icons this year. 😊

I briefly thought about doing the holiday love meme, but last year's attempt was kind of a sobering affair (three replies after linking to it multiple times), so I was like, let's not! 😄 I didn't sign up for any holiday exchanges, so that leaves fandomtrees and Guardian Bingo for the rest of this year and early January! \o/ Hoping to create a few small things for people once work is less busy and there's time to kick back and be creative.

I love this event and this fandom, there are always such riches at the end! And the wishlists are full of inspiring prompts, so there's extra serotonin from creating things for others.

When I was still fairly new to Guardian fandom (May 2021), I participated in #GuardianRecBingo over on Twitter, in which you filled a bingo card by recommending fanworks to go with the prompts. It was super fun, and a nice thing to do during the fannish honeymoon phase. :-D My fanwork consumption has considerably slowed down since then, although I'm hoping to get a little more reading done this December.

Stumbling in late without Starbucks, but I really should gather up my gifts somewhere. I adored the previous wishlist event, and this one was just as joyful! This fandom is so generous and produces so many amazing fanworks.

My wishlist got me a ton of helpful information for organizing my Zhu Yilong picture collection, as well as many adorable baby Long-ge photos! 🥺 Many thanks to sakana17 and tinny for the sleuthing and the picspams! sef1029 made a super lovely podfic of one of my little Kissathon fills. elenothar wrote me an adorable science kink snippet set in the Higher Education verse, and a mysterious benefactor made me an amazing Weilan fanmix!

Such riches! This fandom is the best.

A Weilan fic for trobadora in which Zhao Yunlan is working through some stuff, which is not great for Shen Wei's heart. There's a happy ending, obviously.
