Fic Round-up
Man, time flies. All my fannish activity has shifted to Twitter and Discord, although I am still trying to be more active on Dreamwidth. Hope springs eternal!
Here's some fic I've written and posted since... well, January, I guess! 😬
» Tactical Advantage (5 works total)
I wrote two lingerie-themed Bai Yu/Zhu Yilong/Wang Yang fics and then declared the whole series done. It felt pleasing to end it at five parts, like the quiet place series. So this niche threesome, which started out as a bit of character bleed fun on the Rebel set, now stands at 22k words and ended up with way more Wang Yang/Bai Yu vibes than expected. They're both just so lovable, they had to be into each other! (In my head.)
I might still want to play in this soft little universe though, so I created a new series to hold random snippets as they come to me. I also take prompts! *winning smile*
» Savior Complex (6 works total)
Speaking of series that are now marked as complete! I finally wrote the thing I still wanted to write for my Luo Fusheng/Han Chen crossover that was entirely inspired by one (1) person's excitement about the pairing. This series was a fun one, because I started the first fic entirely in medias res to avoid having to come up with "plot" or "character backstory", and then just ended up writing a lot of the stuff that came before, anyway. Just very out of order. Then a little extra set a little bit after, and finally the happy resolution before the happy ending (in more detail than the main fic).
I really like the whole vibe of this a lot. So much banter! And twococky assholes emotionally constipated people being completely obsessed with each other while supposedly "enemies" (not really enemies).
» Higher Education (5 works so far)
The post-canon fix-it series in which Zhao Yunlan is taking a break from the SID and Shen Wei isn't the Black-Cloaked Envoy anymore has gained a few more fics, as well. It's both an excuse for me to write random kink scenarios (nobody's dying anymore! the world is saved! we can all have fun now!) as well a repository for all my feelings about Weilan's post-resurrection trauma recovery. You know, multitudes!
And speaking of Weilan:

This is an authorized sequel toelenothar's wonderful fic Nameday, which creates such a rich backstory for the way birthday celebrations work (or don't work) in Dixing and in Shen Wei's new life. I was just itching to write Zhao Yunlan's birthday, which was hinted at in the fic. All the fluff! <3
» Five Times Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei Didn't Fuck, and One Time They Did (~6,500 words)
This one's also a sequel to someone else's work, this time for the 520 Day Guardian Reverse Exchange. I tookchaosmanor's fic Five Times Zhao Yunlan and the Black Cloaked Envoy Fucked, and One Time They Didn't and imagined their interactions after the Hei Pao Shi reveal, loosely following the structure of the original. It was great fun! I feel a remix lets you play around with things you wouldn't think of yourself, like Zhao Yunlan's super messy apartment and Shen Wei switching between sweet professor and Dom Mode. (Multitudes!)

Time Engraver fic! I actually set out to write something unrelated to Guardian, but then the Time Engraver just really wanted to have feelings about Zhao Yunlan, so. I basically typed the first section into chat after my friend brought up Time Engraver fic, kind of setting the stage for the vague idea I had in mind, and then I wrote the big climactic scenes a little later, leaving a giant big whole in the middle for me to stuff some kind of coherent mythology in. Not nice, self!

lunarriviera for getting me interested in finally writing 2nd Person POV. Absolutely check out her Zhu Yilong/Unnamed Photographer series (also Zhu Yilong/Bai Yu at its heart), which is beautiful and hot and full of poetry and yearning. Also, it comes with pictures!

I follow the RPF tags, so I'd already read all of those. (I love what you did with Tactical Advantage. Wang Yang is a great addition to their relationship.) And I'd also read the Savior Complex ones. Those two cocky assholes are very close to my heart. <3
But I hadn't seen the Guardian ones! They're going on my list immediately. I also like doing remixes a lot, for the same reason.
