Hello!
I'm still alive! Here are three quick things:
(1) Remember when I wouldn't shut up about The Way Home, the humble little drama that nobody watched and that was the only thing I put into my eyeballs this year until Legend of Zang Hai*? Remember the RPF ship it spawned, briefly mentioned (with pictures) in this post?
Anyway, the actors did a brand livestream last month, in which they mostly played couple games and talked about the skincare on offer for about two minutes total, and one of the gifts they received from the brand was a beach vacation FOR TWO anywhere in the world. Also, they live together. From this massive sigh, I think we can safely assume that Zhang Kangle does most of the cooking and cleaning. (Also, when asked for something that recently made them happy, Ma Boquan said they went on a walk late one night, with very few people around, and it made him feel very content. Then later he posted this video of Zhang Kangle doing a cartwheel on the deserted sidewalk.)
So like. You tell me. What this is.

(2) I'll be in Singapore and Hong Kong later this year! Flights are booked, hotels are booked, I wish it was November already! I haven't had an overseas vacation since, uh, 2019. 😬 Not looking forward to the flights, but oh, the food and the fandom friends and the change of scenery! 😍
(3) Three years ago, I made a daily Zhu Yilong calendar for myself, which turned out to be a lot more work than expected, but resulted in something very nice (I think) and endlessly reusable. I mean, until the corners get too scuffed, or the colors fade, or something. It looks like this (brand new vs. in use, plus some inside pages):
I mentioned tomarycrawford that I was trying to make an updated version, with new pictures and only using photoshoots and no drama/movie characters or events mixed in, and she said she'd be interested in buying one once it was done. It's not done yet (365 pictures is SO MANY), but if you're also interested, here's my offer.
I use this company to print the calendar, which usually costs $75, although they frequently have sales (usually around US holidays) where things are 15% or 20% off. If interested, let me know, and I can ping you when a) it's done, and b) there's a sale going on. Then I can just ship it to your address. Obviously I make no money from this.

The ZYL calendar is amazing, I love the idea so much. I'm not sure I can justify the expense, but I'm so tempted! Let me know when there's a sale?

The calendar is definitely on the pricey side, which is why I actually made a fuss when mine arrived and the glue on top looked wonky. They sent me a second one free of charge and I passed on the slightly wonky one. (After one year of use, all glue is gone and it doesn't make a difference anymore. :-D) So that's a point in their favor! But yeah, I'd definitely wait until they have a sale going on to order one again. Then it would be $60.
(Long-ge will be at the Weibo Movie Night tomorrow, so that's another photoshoot in the bag. \o/)

♥___♥ Lovely Z1L calendar! I've been making monthly laptop wallpaper calendars of Z1L and Bai Yu since 2020, lol. I guess there's just something about (purposefully...) staring at loveliness. :D

And ohhh, a wallpaper is a lovely idea! What a wonderful tradition. I always get shy about displaying my blorbos on my screens, because I don't want people to ask questions, so I go with landscapes. But I love the idea of making something pretty every month and then looking at it like this: 😍

Yeah, years ago when I first made a blorbo wallpaper, a co-worker did ask questions, so I went back to landscapes and flowers, sigh. But in March 2020 when we were all working from home & I had spent 4~5 months amassing Z1L & BY pictures, I decided why the hell not. And for about a year after I went back to the office, there was only a handful of us around so no one to get nosey. It's not like that any more, but *knock wood* still no one's ever asked me anything about my wallpapers.
But I love the idea of making something pretty every month and then looking at it like this: 😍
Yes! It helps *so much*. I mean, really, some days when I drag myself into the office it completely lifts my mood to get past the login and see Z1L or BY across my screen. ♥___♥

OMG, are you ME? 😅 I mean, seriously, making my monthly wallpaper calendars is nothing compared to *daily* calendars, but I go through the same nightmare! I make it harder on myself because I try not to use 2 from the same photoshoot in the same year, but yeesh it's getting harder to do that. Because when you get photoshoots where every.picture.is.stunning, how to choose? Long-ge! Makes us work! 😅

I also have his pictures on my work screensaver, but i have stand-up calendars arranged around the screen, where he would just fit in marvellously. I just never thought of making one. I'll check if I can find a company that does this here and make my own.
