Very belated things.
Whew, hello, this is all very late, but let's pretend it's still February or something! π
Inspired by
grayswandir's Chinese New Year Picspam, here's a selection of my blorbos wearing red. πͺ (Some of the actors I like didn't have CNY photoshoots this year, alas. Hopefully next time!)

I'm still slumped in the same creative slump that kept me from writing for most of last year, so I didn't make a lot of things for
fandomtrees, and only one thing that you could call a fanwork: this little A-He & Ye Liuxi moodboard thingy. Otherwise I assembled some DMBJ vid recs and music recs and cookie recipes. If you're interested.
As for my gifts, I got some pretty Zhang Kangle icons, and (aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!) a beautiful sequel to my Dauntless Youths fix-it fic (which three people have read, two of which also watched the show, which I think was the entirety of the audience for this drama outside of China). I was beside myself for days.

In very current news, I just finished watching Pursuit of Jade (along with a large contingent of my Bluesky TL) and gave it 10 out of 10 stars in my final verdict. What a show. In my head and in conversations with other people, I kept comparing it to Legend of the Female General, which started out great and then just completely fell apart in the second half. It also did its second male lead (coincidentally, played bymy son Zhang Kangle) so incredibly dirty, watching the last three episodes was actual torture, and Pursuit of Jade DID NONE OF THAT. It's not, like, perfect, but then what is. It just got sufficiently close for me to give it full marks.
Now looking forward (I think) to Rebirth, which starsmy son Zhang Kangle in, as far as I can tell, an anti-hero role which will probably make me sad, but he'll look very handsome and I take what I can get. It'll start airing on Wednesday.
I'm keeping track of all the dramas I'm watching this year in this Bluesky thread, which should be accessible to people without an account too.

I feel you so much about the creative slump; I didn't even manage to finish anything for
I've heard lots of good things about Pursuit of Jade!

I saw you've been writing a lot, very happy for you! *\o/* Not sure my creative juices or whatever will ever return from the war, but it was all very nice while it lasted.
Pursuit of Jade is really as good as everyone says, I recommend it very much. It's not all fluff, there's some mass murder and sexual assault and domestic abuse, but it always comes back to sweet whimsy and friendship and romance eventually. The leads are exceptionally charming!

this little A-He & Ye Liuxi moodboard thingy
ooh, that is very pretty. I'm finally working on watching all the way through Parallel World, having been distracted for a long time
by my farmboys, and I'm very fond of A-He.no subject
After that, Wang Xingyue, who I met in The Double, where he played a widely acclaimed/thirsted-over character at just 21 years old. He is very handsome, and also a cat dad. π
And then Ni Ni in purple! π
And also in Parallel World! \o/ I loved A-He, especially later in the drama when she came into her own. I hope you're enjoying your watch. <3 And thank you!

(I do love Wang Yang's horse suit, I think it's amazing.)
