Long time no see, here's some current things:

The tomb franchise got me. 😔 Had to watch Reboot for the blorbo, of course, entirely convinced that I'd finish all 62 episodes and move on with my life. And then I had to go and watch Ultimate Note. And the Heihua movie. Currently halfway through The Lost Tomb 2 (2019) and deep in my Pingxie feelings. I'm mostly vibing with lunarriviera and lurking a bit in the Discord server and doing my silly little Twitter watch threads. Fic has also happened and will be put in a separate post for neatness purposes.

In conclusion, stupid tomb franchise.

Obsessive fannish projects \o/

So, hey, remember when I made a whole seven-page document about Zhu Yilong's various photographers? Felt nice! Neat little research project! Pretty pictures! Data organization!

Anyway, then I signed up for an Airtable account on a whim and created a database to play around with the data and the pictures. That was two months ago and I'm currently up to 211 shoots (67 of Zhu Yilong; 68 of Bai Yu) and 52 photographers. Yes, work has been slow over the summer, but also I guess my brain has really been feeling like organizing things.






There's a pared-down version to browse the shoots (with links to Weibo), for which you have to sign up for a free Airtable account. It currently looks like this:

guardian_wishlist is happening! I'm definitely going to browse the lists and see if anything sparks a little idea to be turned into a little thing. Haven't written my own wishlist yet, but I can probably reuse most of the last one and add Wu Xie to its cast of Z1L characters. We'll see!


In unrelated news, Good Omens 2, Red, White & Royal Blue, the Barbie movie, and Dungeons & Dragons were all delightful in their own ways.

I am deliberately not asking you for the link because I'll fall into it and never come out, but what a lovely thing to have. I 100% understand that impulse to CATEGORIZE, the more so when you get to enjoy going through all the items to be categorized so much...

CATEGORIEEEEEEES! 🥰 I've fallen completely in love with Airtable, it really makes it so easy to put a database together and then just play around with it. I can definitely get lost in trawling Weibo and looking things up and reveling in my little data sets, so yeah, don't wanna tempt you.

However! 😀 The pared-down version really just lets you look at the pictures and some info, so I don't think it would be much of a time sink. Unless you're the kind of person who'd be like, oh no, this set has no place attached, I need to find out where the 2023 CCTV Lantern Festival Gala was recorded. 😅
