Fanmix: Pull Apart the Dark
It's finally done! \o/
I took quite a long break from fiddling with this, returned to put together the second half in a way that made me very emotional (HE LIT UP THE WHOLE SKY! NEVER OVER IT!) and then... just... could not get the first half to work.
I eventually removed a song from consideration that I really liked but that just didn't quite work for Zhao Yunlan (Ledges by Noah Gundersen, if anyone's interested), moved a few other tracks around, and finally had SOMETHING.
It's pleasingly different from its Shen Wei counterpart, I think, with a more modern-ish rock/pop vibe, and then towards the end it's like, AND NOW WE HAVE THE FEELINGS. That Sleeping at Last track is just so perfect for Zhao Yunlan.
(Apparently, this is also my 20th fanmix on AO3! Neat! 🥳)
